Position Title: Education Specialist

Position Summary:   

OWSDF seeks a motivated Education Specialist to join our team in Bokh, Somali Regional State. The Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing educational initiatives, promoting access to quality education, and fostering learning opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student learning outcomes 
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals to provide support and guidance 
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of improvement and develop targeted interventions 
  • Provide professional development and training to faculty and staff on best practices and new initiatives 
  • Advocates for the needs of students, particularly those with special needs or from underprivileged backgrounds 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and research in education and apply them to their work 
  • Analyze data and use it to make data-driven decisions to improve student achievement 
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive school culture that encourages student engagement and success 
  • Support and mentor educators to help them grow in their profession and achieve their goals. 

Qualifications and Experience:   

  • Master’s degree in Education or relevant fields with 3 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience. 
  • Strong understanding of education principles, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Previous experience in program management, implementation, and project development in the education sector. 
  • Proficiency in English and Somali languages.
