Safeguarding Livelihoods and Nutrition: OWS DF's Impactful WFP Third-Party Monitoring Project in Somali Region

OWS DF has been implementing a Third-Party Monitoring Project contracted by WFP to undertake rigorous monitoring of relief food/cash distribution and Targeted Supplementary Feeding (TSF) programs in disaster-affected areas of the Somali Region. In terms of scope, the project covers 95 woredas in the region. In other words, the project covers the entire Sonal region. OWS DF has been implementing this project since 2020. The project mainly aims at ensuring WFP-affiliated ground presence to ensure the right beneficiaries areal partner accessing their right entitlements & and reduce risks associated with food insecurity and malnutrition in the region, particularly to vulnerable segments of the community affected by multiple shocks.

The project has been able to support more than 1.2 million families to access their right to life-saving food aid and nutrition support in Somali region.
